Environmental justice depends on a healthy democracy.
We help people understand how decisions are made, who makes them, and how communities can influence those decisions through public comments, hearings, meetings, advocacy, voter education, and grassroots organizing.

Our work is rooted in the understanding that environmental justice, Indigenous sovereignty, democracy, and community self-determination are connected.

Why and Action Fund?
7 Directions of Service has built a strong foundation of Indigenous-led environmental justice, cultural protection, education, and community organizing.
But some forms of advocacy require a different organizational structure.
That is why the 7DS Action Fund was created.
As a 501(c)(4) social welfare organization, 7DS Action Fund can engage more extensively in lobbying and public policy advocacy than a traditional charitable organization.
That allows us to take community concerns directly into the places where decisions are being made.
